Contribution to the travel costs

Contribution to the travel costs of participants was introduced in project KA131 2024

Travel funding for all types of mobility is not available for exchanges funded by previous projects.
The grant amount is calculated as a lump sum based on the travel distance. To calculate travel distance*, please use the distance calculator available at http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/tools/distance_en.htm.

Below 500 KM, participants will, as a general rule, travel with low-emissions means of transport.

*For example, if a person from Madrid (Spain) is taking part in an activity taking place in Rome (Italy), the applicant will calculate the distance from Madrid to Rome (1365,28 KM) and then select the applicable travel distance band (i.e. between 500 and 1999 km).

A student traveling using a standard mode of transport will be granted an additional allowance for up to 2 days of travel (round trip), provided the travel takes place on days other than the start or end of the study period.

For environmentally friendly travel, the participant will receive:

  • Up to 1000 km: 2 days for travel (1 day before and 1 day after the mobility).
  • From 1000 km to 2499 km: 4 days for travel (2 days before and 2 days after the mobility).
  • Over 2500 km: 6 days for travel (3 days before and 3 days after the mobility).

Note: The amounts listed under "standard travel" and "green travel," as well as the travel days, are not cumulative.
