Observation, supervision and tracking of satellite objects of the Poznań University of Technology (SONSOS)

As part of the Poznan University of Technology Observation, Supervision and Tracking of Satellite Objects (SONSOS) project, a stationary, field observation station for satellite objects was built, consisting of two astronomical domes to conduct research and development activities in the field of development, production, testing and validation of positioning robots.

Researchers from the Poznan University of Technology receive awards from the Minister of Science and Higher Education!

On February 18, on the occasion of Science Day, during a gala in the auditorium of the Warsaw University of Technology, Minister Dariusz Wieczorek presented awards to the most outstanding representatives of the scientific community. 

We are pleased to announce that employees of the Poznan University of Technology were among the winners!

In the "significant achievements in the field of implementation activities" category, the award went to prof. Agata Gawlak, – vice-dean of the Faculty of Architecture.

Recognition for prof. Katarzyna Rzeszut

Prof. Katarzyna Rzeszut has been honoured with the badge "For Merit to the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship."

On January 30, 2024, during the Wielkopolska Chamber of Construction gala at the "BUDMA 2024" international fair, director Robert Pilarczyk, representing the Marshal, awarded prof. Katarzyna Rzeszut, with the honorary badge "For Merit to the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship."

International Student Conference organized in collaboration with the Baltic University Programme

Space Robot Testing Center

As part of the Space Robot Testing Center (OTRK) project, a test hall with a total area of approximately 700 m2 was built as a testing ground for testing mobile robots for space exploration applications. The training ground dome has a specialized 360° projection installation of the planetary horizon and the celestial sphere. The training ground is also equipped with two mobile robots and two unmanned multi-rotor flying vehicles.

Success in the PRELUDIUM BIS NCN program

The National Science Center has announced the results of the 5th edition of the PRELUDIUM BIS competition for research projects carried out by doctoral students at doctoral schools. The projects qualified for funding in the life sciences group include the project "The role of microplastic pollution in the biosphere - sorption, desorption and ecotoxicity", headed by prof. Ewa Kaczorek from the Faculty of Chemical Technology. 

Bio Building Blocks - ecological future of the chemical industry

The European project "BIONEER" is an innovative initiative within a consortium of 13 participants, which includes four universities and nine industrial partners. The project primarily aims to develop the chemical sector through the diversification of biological building blocks and platform molecules. It focuses on expanding the synthesis of innovative compounds and polymers derived from lignocellulosic biomass, using both chemical and microbiological production methods.

Projekt Rural BioReFarmeries

The aim of the Rural BioReFarmeries project is to demonstrate the first model of a decentralized green biorefinery and to show the possibility of its replication in rural areas in Europe to enhance their economic potential within the framework of sustainable development. The project brings together 19 partners from 8 countries. The team from Poznan University of Technology, led by prof. Piotr Oleśkowicz-Popiel, will be responsible for developing the production of organic acids from green whey on a large laboratory scale and then initiating the process on a demonstration scale.
