Success of Poznan University of Technology Doctoral Students in the 13th Edition of the PAS Poznan Branch Competition

We are pleased to announce that during the 107th Session of the General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS) Poznań Branch, held on June 11, 2025, at the Działyński Palace, awards and distinctions were presented as part of the 13th Edition of the PAS Competition for the best original creative work by a doctoral student published in 2024.

Among the winners and those awarded were as many as three individuals from Poznan University of Technology:

Sustainable Biotechnology Excellence Cluster begins its activities

On June 6, 2025, the inaugural meeting of the Sustainable Biotechnology Excellence Cluster took place at PUT. In a friendly and constructive atmosphere, participants — representatives of different faculties and university units — had the opportunity to present their research areas, exchange experiences, and discuss mutual expectations for the newly formed cluster.

Recognition for Poznan University of Technology Representative in the TOP 10 Women in Engineering 2025 Ranking

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Amelia Klimek, representing Poznan University of Technology, received an honorary distinction in the TOP 10 Women in Engineering 2025 ranking, organized by the Perspektywy Educational Foundation.

The competition committee recognized Ms. Amelia Klimek for her research on sustainable development of electrochemical capacitors and her innovative use of carbon quantum dots in energy storage.

Double Victory for PUT Rocketlab!!

Between May 28 and June 2, 2025, the PUT Rocketlab student team from Poznan University of Technology participated in the international student rocket engineering competition FAR-OUT 2025, held in the Mojave Desert in California. The team was the only representative from Europe at the event

Their hybrid-propelled rocket, HEXA 5, set a FAR site record for the highest altitude reached by a fully recovered hybrid rocket.

Poznan University of Technology among the Top 10% in the CWUR 2025 World Ranking

In the latest edition of The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR 2025), Poznan University of Technology was ranked among the top 6.9% of the best universities and research institutions worldwide. Compared to the previous edition, the university advanced to 1,473rd place globally and 25th place nationally.

The CWUR 2025 ranking evaluated over 21,000 institutions worldwide, listing the top 2,000, including 40 from Poland.

Science Day 2025 – scientific dialogue at Poznan University of Technology

On May 30, 2025, the third edition of the Science Day took place at the Lecture Centre of Poznan University of Technology – a recurring event initiated and led by Prof. Wojciech Sumelka, Vice-Rector for Research. The event aimed to facilitate knowledge exchange, share experiences, and showcase current research directions across various scientific fields.

Seminar as Part of the Weimar Excellence Program

On May 26–27, a seminar was held at Poznan University of Technology as part of the Weimar Excellence Initiative 2024.

The event focused on flexible microstructures and materials tailored to specific needs in biomedical engineering and technology. The Weimar Excellence Initiative 2024 is a joint effort between Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (France), BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg (Germany), and Poznan University of Technology (Poland), with support from the French Embassy in Germany.

Summary of the 3rd Symposium on Motorboat Technology

On May 23, 2025, the 3rd Symposium on Motorboat Technology was held at the Lecture Centre of Poznan University of Technology, organized by the interfaculty student research group PUT Powertrain.
